At the International Lindy Hop Championships last week-end, the most memorable moment has been, for many of the people attending the event, the number performed by one very popular couple Andrew Thigpen and Karen Turman. The piece was called "The evolution of Lindy Hop".
Not only it is very funny, it also takes you on a real trip through all the eras, the people, the styles, that made lindy hop what it is today, some we regret and still inspire us, some we really don't. HA- hA.
But anyway, it gives a good idea of what it is all about. Enjoy ! :
Andrew put together a youtube playlist that will allow you to see by yourself the whole evolution of the dance, with all the original videos they are referring to in the routine, starting from the very beginning back in the 30's until more recent footage from the 80's, 90', and the 00's.
