Je vais commencer une série hebdomadaire de présentations de "Blog de la semaine". Ma liste d'update RSS s'est allongée ces derniers temps et j'ai eu envie que toutes ces web-découvertes soient partagées en public ! Il s'agit généralement de blog sur la mode et le design. J'en ai trouvé d'autres sur la danse et sur la sociologie. Chaque chose en son temps. En voici un premier :
Le street fashion selon STREETFSN
C'est un site d'un photographe de mode coréen qui dit s'intéresser non seulement aux modes vestimentaires des individus qu'il croise dans la rue (à Seoul, Paris, NYC, Barcelone, Milan, Tokyo...), mais également à la manière d'être qui émane de leur présence. La créativité de l'apparence est à la fois matérielle et sociale, interpersonnelle.
J'ai été particulièrement attirée par ses photos de la mode coréenne. Non pas qu'elle soit particulièrement différente de ce qu'on peut voir partout ailleurs, mais tout simplement parce qu'elle est portée par des Coréens, ce qui fait toute la différence en terme d'apparaître, d'univers et d'atmosphère visuels.

The Evolution of Lindy Hop

At the International Lindy Hop Championships last week-end, the most memorable moment has been, for many of the people attending the event, the number performed by one very popular couple Andrew Thigpen and Karen Turman. The piece was called "The evolution of Lindy Hop".
Not only it is very funny, it also takes you on a real trip through all the eras, the people, the styles, that made lindy hop what it is today, some we regret and still inspire us, some we really don't. HA- hA.
But anyway, it gives a good idea of what it is all about. Enjoy ! :



Andrew put together a youtube playlist that will allow you to see by yourself the whole evolution of the dance, with all the original videos they are referring to in the routine, starting from the very beginning back in the 30's until more recent footage from the 80's, 90', and the 00's. You can change videos and skip to the next ones clicking on the arrows on each side of the screen.

International Lindy Hop Championships 2010

Last week-end, I was home, in Montreal, working on my PhD exam, but some others were in Washington DC having a blast and watching live these amazing performances.
I think Max and Annie are the WORLD Best couple for this category : Showcase. Yes, I mean it. Aerials, precision, musicality, sense of performance and innovation, everything concerning choreographing and performing a truly killing routine.

Coup de foudre

Mes style - coups de foudre n'ont finalement jamais changé depuis mes 12 ans, jeans déchiré, grunge romantique, allure de danseuse, les uniformes scolaires, les fleurs, les superpositions, les grosses chaussettes, les bottes lourdes et solide, le rouge à lèvre rouge, les yeux noircies, les ados "Nirvana" de Aulot, Armelle et autres "grandes soeurs" nonchalamment super stylées.
J'ai trouvé le blog d'une photographe qui concentre tous les styles qui me donnent des papillons dans le ventre. Rhaaa, la littérature vestimentaire, mon autre grand amour.

 Et regardez ces collants !!!!!! Prochaine paye, je me les offre !!!
